Tabling at an outreach event is easy, and it's fun to discuss community radio with interested members of the public, because everyone has ideas for radio shows and enjoys discussing them! We provide you with talking points and answers to frequently asked questions—this material can be read by you during the first couple minutes of your shift. (For high-profile events, tabling is generally scheduled in pairs, with newcomer volunteers paired with seasoned volunteers whenever possible; as an alternative, the outreach coordinator might schedule a brief orientation with you prior to your shift.) To be a successful tabling volunteer: show up on time for your shift, become familiar with what's on the table and the talking points, then sit back, smile, and engage folks in conversation about the station.
